In 2024 we must "Stay Focused" on the task the Lord has for us.

I was raised in Northeast Alabama where life was simple. I saved at age 9, surrendered to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at 22. My wife Katherine (aka Sweetie) and I have been married for 37 years and we have two children, Heather (Brian) who have two boys (Dalton 8, Jacob 5), and Benjamin (Desiree’) who has one daughter Maylee Belle. I am currently the Senior Pastor at Arley First Baptist Church in Arley Alabama. I have been serving churches as pastor for 34 years in DeKalb, St. Clair and Winston Counties in Alabama. I love spending time with my family, playing piano, guitar, banjo and mandolin, deer and turkey hunting and antique car shows. I have a BM, MA and PhD in Theology from Trinity College of the Bible, and Theological Seminary in Newburg Indiana. 

I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior, Lord and King! He is sovereign, and alive and coming again soon. I am Southern Baptist and I believe whoever calls upon the name of Jesus in repentance can and will be saved.  

I love preaching the Gospel, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and helping to people come to faith in Jesus. Being in the ministry allows me to know the difference between true faith and religion.  Becoming a Christian (a follower of Jesus Christ) has been the greatest decision of my life. 

I enjoy putting on Car Shows with churches. I have helped with events like this all across the State of Alabama. I enjoy Turkey hunting and helping with Turkey Rodeo's as much as doing car shows.  

I have worked with local Associations and with the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions Evangelism Department  in planning and putting on events like these.  

I also love music, and growing up in a musical family I have learned to play several instruments. From Southern Gospel to Bluegrass and many genre in between, music is an important part of of my life and ministry. 

I thank the Lord for the gifts He has given me and the blessings He has allowed me to experience over the course of over 35 years of ministry.
